• Phragmipediums

Phragmipediums, the tropical ladyslipper orchids, are easy to grow and very rewarding. They need frequent repotting (every six months if possible). We grow them in seedling bark mix. They need lots of water with good drainage. Fertilze lightly, flushing with water between times.

Note: The exception to this is Phrag. besseae and its hybrids. We grow them in clay pots with sphagnum moss and allow the pots to sit in water. Distilled water is best.
