The Vanda Alliance includes a number interesting genera characterized by many large flowers in loose clusters. They are native to Africa and the southern parts of Asia, including offshore islands. They are all monopodial, which means they have a central stem that grows upward, with symetrical leaves on each side
They like warmth and moisture, especially since the stem does not hold too much water. In general, they alse need bright light to flower well. Water them frequently, but they must have good drainage. Fertilize during spring and summer. Repot only when necessary.
