(lobata concolor ‘Jeni’ AM/AOS x purpurata carnea ‘Newberry Perfection’).
This remake was made using pale colored parents but we got a surprise when they started to flower! The first ones to bloom have all been lavender flowers with dark magenta-purple lip coloring. Dark purple veins on the petals add a nice contrast. Wonderfully fragrant, with a sweet floral scent. Flower count is good and expected to get better with maturity. Our current crop was repotted Summer 2021 and is doing very well. The plants are showing purple pigmentation or 'freckling' on the foliage. This is normal and not a sign of disease.
