Lc. Newberry Ice and Fire 'Summer Song' x Lc. Kiritsubo 'Southern Stars'
(Both parents pictured)
We are so excited about this new hybrid! Lc. Kiritsubo has proven itself many times as a parent for dwarf, free flowering seedlings. The first parent is recently registered and is a first generation Laelia anceps cross. This new generation will be very compact with upright stems of semi-alba to pink and possibly some white blooms. Flowers will be star-shaped and long-lasting. Plants are warmth tolerant and eventually may prefer baskets or mounts.
We have our first crop of seedlings growing in 2.5" pots. Approximately 2 years from first flowers?
This is a compact grower but will need bright, indirect light similar to standard cattleya conditions. Not recommended for windowsill growers for this reason.
