Chysis Maritza Bielecki x Chysis limminghei
Several years ago our cross of Chysis Maritza Bielecki (Langleyensis x limminghei) made quite a stir among growers. Over a dozen AOS awards have been granted since and now we are ready to offer the next generation. We have added another dose of the compact growing limminghei to bring down overall size a bit more while keeping the coloring bright. Plants in this genus are deciduous, losing most if not all their foliage in the winter months. During that time the bulbs will stay firm and the roots still require at least some moisture. With spring comes new growth and the promise of flowers. Blooms are medium sized and waxy in appearance. Colors will be in a range of cream, soft peach and hopefully brighter orange shades.
Growing Suggestions: These will grow best in medium to bright, indirect light with lots of good airflow. The leaves are thin which makes them a perfect target for bacterial spotting or sunburn. Our plants are very happy in the New Zealand Tree Fern media.
