Miltassia Phoenix Rising 'White Lightning'
(Photo shown courtesy of Orchidworks)
A stunning, warm growing selection that hails from the Oncidium alliance. Showy, arching stems will hold several star-shaped creamy white blooms with darker chocolate markings. Very unusual coloring and a definite statement piece. Flowers are long lasting, even in the summer. Plants have robust pseudobulbs topped with thin foliage. As these mature you can expect multiple inflorescences per season making for an impressive show!
This offering is from the cross of Brassia Rex x Mtssa. Cartagena, which makes it a good selection for most warm climates. Plants will be be happy in 65-85 degrees but can tolerate a winder range if given a chance to acclimate. Medium to bright, filtered light to prevent burning the foliage. In brighter light, more air flow will be necessary. We suggest watering these once to twice per week just as media dries out. Do not leave plants sitting in water. We do provide water, and at least some fertilizer year round for this type of orchid.
Plants offered are seedling sized and growing well in 2.5" pots. Expected to flower for the first time within 18-24 months.
