Holiday Hours

Carter and Holmes Orchids will be closed on Monday September 2nd, 2024 in observance of Labor Day. This includes both the office and greenhouses.


We will resume shipping, and normal greenhouse hours on Tuesday September 3rd, 2024.

Dear Customers,

We are shipping to as many locations as weather allows. Texas, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona remain no goes as well as a few California locations.

We are watching the temperatures, so we can plan accordingly. If you are planning to be away from home, please let us know as soon as possible.

Planning a Visit?

The nursery is open to the public from 9-5, Monday through Saturday throughout the year (Closed Major Holidays).

If you are planning a trip to see us and want to view as much as possible please contact us ahead of time so someone can be available during your visit.

We can not promise someone will always be available to show visitors around.

Tropical and Indoor Plants

In addition to our orchids, we also love companion plants like begonias, gesneriads, ferns and more.  We propagate most ourselves from cuttings, spore or seed. 

Our collection includes decades old varieties not commonly seen, plus new and exciting plants. Varieties available may change seasonally but we always have something to choose from.
