Dendrobium crumenatum
Known as the 'Thunderstorm Orchid', this species must have a drop in temperature and barometric pressure to induce flower buds. About 8-9 days after a storm with the right conditions your plant will be graced with extremely fragrant, pristine white blooms. Mature plants are free flowering though the biggest show will be the summer and fall months under brightly lit conditions.
This species would love to be grown outdoors in a shady spot during the warmer months. Can tolerate temperatures down to the low 50's and up to the mid-90's. Plants will get tall as they mature, with multiple growths and keikis appearing freely.
We have Blooming Size keikis growing in 2.5" pots. Some already have spikes visible.
