Maudiae Paphiopedilum
(photos are examples only)
For those wanting to try something new and interesting, these Ladyslipper orchids are the way to go. Growing conditions are very similar to Phalaenopsis, but their roots should not be allowed to dry out as much. Hybrids bred from Maudiae type parentage stay compact and won't outgrow your space. Plants have two-tone foliage and each stem holds a beautiful bloom for months.
Growing Suggestions: We suggest these for intermediate growing conditions (60°-85°), either in the greenhouse or home. Low to medium light is best, with good air flow to keep leaves happy and spot-free. Water just before the media is completely dried through (one to two times per week), and fertilize every 3rd or 4th watering except in the winter months. (We recommended alternating with Cal-Mag 15-5-15 and your regular balanced fertilizer.) Plants should be repotted every other spring and will need snug fitting containers that drain well.
We are offering a limited number of plants in puffy bud stage, growing in 4" pots. Excellent breeding lines! Each one will be unique and colors will vary.
