Maxillaria tenuifolia 'Yamada' AM/AOS
This species is famous for its luscious ‘Coconut Cream Pie’ fragrance. Starting in late winter and early spring, plants will cover themselves in dozens of small, colorful blooms that will fill the room with this sweet, tropical scent. This awarded cultivar has light yellow blooms with pink lip coloring and amazing fragrance. Very unusual! This color form can be described as an aurea (yellow) or a flavescens (yellow with coloring).
Growing Suggestions: This species will need to be cultivated in cool to intermediate (65-85 degrees) temperatures and bright, indirect light. Roots should not be allowed to completely dry out so we suggest watering 2-3 times per week, or just as the media approaches dryness.
We are offering plants growing in 3" pots but ready for repotting after flowering season. Plants are in bud and bloom at this time.
These beautiful plants were provided by our friends at a wholesale orchid nursery in Hawaii. Because we did not raise them in our greenhouses, we can not guarantee them to be virus free as we would our own lab grown material. Otherwise, we guarantee your satisfaction and safe delivery as with other plant purchases.
Unless otherwise stated, please understand that bloom photos show mature sized plants not what those offered currently look like.
