Blue Cattleya Quartet

Cattleyas come in a range of amazing colors, but none so difficult to hybridize as the elusive 'blues'.  From indigo purple lip color to slate grey to lilac blue, the colors astound and the scents tantalize. 

Here are Four selections from our benches, 3 seed grown and 1 mericlone.  We will send one of each in a 2.5" pot for one Special Price, while supplies last.

The first parent is a free flowering miniature with intense coloring and fragrance.  Eximia is a late summer to fall bloomer with softer coloring and scent.  Should be similar to our popular Lc. Blues Baby.

Our newest remake of this antique cross.  This is an extremely popular and easy to grow primary hybrid.  Expect a range of soft blue to grey flowers with darker blue trumpet shaped lips.  These will be extremely fragrant.  Best suited for bright Cattleya light levels, with mature plants needing plenty of light to flower well.

The pod parent is a famous blue primary hybrid with bold flaring and intense fragrance. The pollen parent is a very short miniature from the cross of Mini Purple x Kiritsubo. We have fingers crossed for a new generation of very compact blues with fragrance.

New Mericlones of a very famous primary hybrid.  Our original plant of this variety came from Sentinel Orchids and just recently has been granted an Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Upright foliage, with stems of very pale blue flowers showing darker slate blue trumpets.  Gardenia and baby powder fragrance.
